Exploring the multifaceted realms of drawing and printmaking over 6 weeks. Symbology the major theme explored. Incorporating the synergy of found objects in the day to day and delving into the deeper metaphysical understandings.
The Nymphaea waterlilies perfectly symbolise innocence, purity, fertility, pleasure, celebration, hope, rebirth, wellness, and peace. All ancient cultures around the world have associated the lilies with gods and spirituality. It is related with the God, Thoth, in Greek lore. The Ibis is a symbol of communication, probing, transition and trust. When this creature presents itself to you it probably wants to tell you that you are in a harmonious relationship with your surroundings.
Acotape Print. Using Oil Inks and the traditional press. Incorporated Yellow Oil stick, and blue stamp after dried. The ankh symbol is representative of eternal life in Ancient Egypt. It could also have a more physical connotation: the ankh may represent water, air, and the sun, which were meant to provide and preserve life in Ancient Egyptian culture.
